Betsson has proposed re-electing all current directors, with Johan Lundberg remaining as the chair of the board, at its upcoming Annual General Meeting on May 7, 2024. It is recommended that shareholders vote in favor of the re-appointment of all directors, including Eva de Falck, Peter Hamberg, Eva Leach, Pontus Lindwall, Louise Nylén, and Tristan Sjöberg.

The meeting will also address a proposal to increase board fees by 10%, which have remained unchanged since 2021. However, Pontus Lindwall, the chief executive, will not receive any board fees. The Betsson nomination committee, consisting of Jenny Rosberg, Ingela Kling, and Mats Axell, is overseeing these proposals.

The announcement comes after a successful year for Betsson, marked by a record third quarter. The company reported revenue of €237.6m, the third consecutive quarter of record revenue. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) also saw a 45.8% increase from the previous year, reaching €56.0m, while pre-tax profit and net profit also experienced significant growth.

Moreover, EBITDA for the quarter increased by 41.8% to €68.9m. Betsson’s acquisition of BetFirst Group in Belgium, completed in June, contributed to its successful year. It has also obtained new licenses in Serbia for online casino operations and in France for online sports betting.

However, Betsson has faced challenges in the Netherlands, deciding to withdraw its igaming license applications due to delays in the certification process. Despite this setback, the company remains focused on its growth and plans to continue expanding its presence in the online gambling market.
