NeoGames subsidiary, Wizard Games, has appointed Dimitar Panteleev as its new director of games technology. Panteleev will be responsible for driving research and deployment of new technology at Wizard Games, leading the provider’s development team, spearheading new technology, and overseeing the quality assurance and research teams.
Before joining Wizard Games, Panteleev served as the chief technology officer at Bulgaria-based igaming provider, The Better Platform, where he developed and maintained the company’s online casino platform. Prior to that, he was head of development at FootballScout and also worked for BNP Paribas Personal Finance. Additionally, earlier in his career, he worked as a software developer at Bulgarian Software House and co-founded Make Sense, a company that develops business solutions for retail environments.
Expressing his excitement about joining Wizard Games, Panteleev said, “Wizard Games had some of the industry’s best and most exciting releases in 2023. I’m honoured to be contributing to its journey as Director of Games Technology.” Wizard Games’ managing director, Benedict McDonagh, also expressed confidence in Panteleev, stating, “We’re thrilled to have him as part of the team and we’re confident he will help to push Wizard Games to new heights.”
The announcement of Panteleev’s appointment comes on the back of a positive Q3 for NeoGames, the parent company of Wizard Games. CEO Moti Malul attributed the success to ilottery growth in the US, which was a core driver behind the positive results. In the first three quarters, NeoGames reduced its net loss and experienced a sharp increase in adjusted earnings.
The positive performance of NeoGames is occurring as progress towards its acquisition by Aristocrat Leisure is underway. In May 2023, Aristocrat agreed to pay $1.20bn to acquire NeoGames. The deal has been approved by NeoGames’ board and the provider’s shareholders, and, subject to satisfaction of closing conditions, hope to complete the deal in the first half of fiscal 2024.
