Spiffbet, an online gambling operator, has acquired the dormant domain Helmicasino.com for SEK300,000. The website was previously operated by an online casino partner in Finland but shut down in early 2023 due to changes in payment conditions. Spiffbet plans to relaunch the website under a Malta license and focus on the Finnish market. The company anticipates significant additional costs beyond marketing for the relaunch.

The CEO of Spiffbet, Henrik Svensson, expressed regret over the closure of Helmicasino.com but emphasized the need for it due to changing operating conditions. Svensson stated that Spiffbet aims to offer the casino again with an improved game selection and payment options. He also highlighted the company’s efforts to reduce costs and increase revenues.

In addition to the acquisition of Helmicasino.com, Spiffbet recently launched Supersnabbt.se in Sweden, offering players a variety of online casino games. This new website operates as a sister brand to Supernopea.com, another Spiffbet website active in Finland. Spiffbet’s brand portfolio also includes Turbovegas in Sweden and Finland, as well as Metal Casino in multiple markets.

In August, Spiffbet sold its game development business to Million Games for up to SEK3.5m. The company stated that the game development division had not contributed to its business for the past year and has been subject to a liquidation analysis. This sale reflects Spiffbet’s shift in focus from game development to online casino operations, with plans to solely focus on running online casinos in the future.
