The World Series of Politics, a major event for the gaming industry, is back and this time, Clarion Gaming managing director Stuart Hunter is providing insight into what the industry can expect at ICE 2024. The last ICE event in London before it moves to Barcelona in 2025, Hunter is determined to make this year’s event just as impactful. Despite the move, ICE 2024 is expected to match the success of the 2023 show in terms of attendees, exhibitors, and deals made.

The ICE week will kick off with the ICE VOX conference, which includes the World Regulatory Briefing and International Casino Conference. This will bring together leading operators, key regulators, and companies such as Netflix. There will be sessions on AI, safer gambling, and cybersecurity, designed to provoke meaningful debate. Hunter is particularly excited to hear from headline speaker Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International.

ICE serves as a bridge between Europe and the US, providing a platform for newly regulated markets in North America to access expertise from more mature regions. The show floor will be significantly larger, with over 1 million square feet in ExCeL London and around 650 brands covering every aspect of the industry. Hunter emphasizes the importance of curating the show floor to reflect the needs of the industry and match it with the demand from exhibitors.

This year’s ICE event will also serve as a fond farewell to London, as it moves to Barcelona in 2025. The new venue in Barcelona is twice the size of ExCeL London, providing greater flexibility and creativity for exhibitors. Hunter sees this move as the next evolution for ICE, bringing new opportunities and excitement for the future from 2025 onwards.

In summary, ICE 2024 promises to be a significant event for the gaming industry, with a strong lineup of educational sessions, a diverse show floor, and the anticipation of what the future holds for the event as it transitions to Barcelona.
